The Chairman and Committee extend their thanks to all those members who attended our AGM last night. The auditorium was filled to capacity at the Riverside Arts Centre with some 80 - 90 members present.
Two representatives of Thames Water gave a presentation on the forthcoming erection of a crash barrier and closure of the A308 (scroll down to article of 13th June). It's fair to say they had to endure some pretty difficult questions, the answers to which were unsatisfactory in most cases. It must be assumed that, having exhausted the time available, they were very happy to take their leave from the auditorium!
Lincoln Jopp MC MP for Spelthorne addressed the members and artfully avoided making any party political points, confining his address and answers from the floor to matters of local concern only. The applause at the conclusion of his address was such as to suggest that the Committee and membership were greatly impressed by his presentation. We are very grateful to Lincoln for making the time to attend.
